WELCOME TO THE AIM HIGHER PROGRAMME

Coulsdon College is part of the Aim Higher/Gifted and Talented programme. We assist and encourage our Aim Higher and G&T students whilst they are with us. We arrange visits to universities and can help with funding for trips as well as revision guides, books etc.

Last year, we took several groups to Kingston University, Roehampton University, Sussex University and the Heloa conference to name but a few. We also took our Gifted & Talented students to Kings College, London for an extremely successful debating event.

If you were an Aim Higher/G&T student in your previous school, this information should be passed on to us at enrolment. We will then add you to our database, and include you within our Aim Higher progamme so you can continue your education with the help and support that we can offer. If this is not picked up, please come and see Sarah Peppersmith in room 5 (Student Services Reception).

Please see "I am here to help" with further information about how we can help you. Also have a look at our website, and click on the Aim Higher link for information on the Aim Higher Surrey programme.

ROEHAMPTON UNIVERSITY TRIP -FEBRUARY FEEDBACK

The yearly Croydon Colleges Campus visit took place at Roehampton University on the 27th February with Coulsdon, Croydon and John Ruskin Colleges.

The event is extremely well structured with a campus tour, a talk on courses, and a finance talk which includes a board game. We arrived at Roehampton and had an initial briefing before the campus tour began. As usual the Roehampton Ambassadors were extremely enthusiastic, positive and infomative as we walked around the University. We saw the accommodation, dance studios and the new gym. The facilities are excellent at Roehampton, with a huge learning resource, internet cafe; new lecture halls and plenty of places to relax and eat. For night owls they have 24 hour vending machines, a 24 hour Ben & Jerry's ice cream machine next to a 24 hour machine that you can rent out DVD's.

Comments from students included, the day was useful to learn about University life, and the Student Ambassadors were very helpful, and they would all recommended the trip to other students.

A good day was had by all!
